Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Community Service (IJOCS) employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process. This means the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept hidden from each other to ensure a fair, objective, and unbiased evaluation of every manuscript.

1

Initial Desk Review

Submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editorial Board. We check for conformity to the journal's Focus and Scope, formatting guidelines, and perform a strict plagiarism check using Turnitin (similarity index must be strictly < 20%). Articles failing this step are desk-rejected.

2

Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers who hold a doctoral degree or have a strong publication record in the related field. The review process typically takes 3 to 4 weeks.

3

Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodological rigor, significance of findings, and clarity of presentation. They will provide one of the following recommendations: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

4

Editorial Decision & Revision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers' reports. If revisions are required, authors are given a specific timeframe to revise and resubmit their manuscript along with a detailed "Response to Reviewers" letter.

5

Final Acceptance & Production

Once the revised manuscript is approved, it receives a formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA). The article then enters the production stage (copyediting, layout formatting, and proofreading) before being published online.
