Peer Review Process
International Journal of Progressive Education (IJoPE) maintains the highest standards of peer review while increasing the efficiency of the process. All research articles published in IJoPE undergo full peer review, key characteristics of which are listed below:
- All research articles are reviewed by at least two suitably qualified experts.
- All publication decisions are made by the journals’ Editors-in-Chief on the basis of the reviews provided.
- Double-Blind Review: Members of the editorial board lend insight, advice, and guidance to the Editors-in-Chief generally and to assist decision making on specific submissions.
- Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants provide the administrative support that allows IJoPE to maintain the integrity of peer review while delivering rapid turnaround and maximum efficiency to authors, reviewers, and editors alike.
The Review Flowchart
Submission & Pre-Check
The author submits the manuscript. The Admin/Managing Editor performs an initial check for:
- Compliance with the Author Guidelines.
- Plagiarism Check (using Turnitin). Max similarity: 20%.
- Appropriateness of the scope.
Editorial Screening (Desktop Review)
The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor reviews the manuscript's scientific merit. Manuscripts that are insufficient in quality or outside the scope are Rejected promptly without external review.
Result: Continue or Desk RejectDouble-Blind Peer Review
The manuscript is sent to at least two anonymous reviewers. The reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa. Reviewers evaluate the scientific quality, methodology, and significance.
Duration: 4-8 WeeksEditor Decision
Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor makes a final decision:
Revision & Production
If revisions are required, the author must submit the revised manuscript. Once accepted, the manuscript goes through Copyediting, Layouting, and Proofreading before publication.
